Telephoning Your Doctor
Although most problems are best dealt with in consultation, a doctor will always be available during normal surgery hours for emergency advice. Our staff are experienced in helping you decide whether the matter requires an appointment, a return phone call from the practice or urgent advice.
Telephone Interpreter Service
Please advise the receptionist when making an appointment if you would like to book an interpreter to be available for your consult and which language you require.Presently we have doctors who speak a number of languages including Arabic, Nepalese, Hindi, Korean & Afrikaans.
Results
Patients are required to make a follow-up appointment for all test results as they are not given out over the telephone.
Recalls and Reminders
Recalls and reminders are automatically put in place for test results, investigations and reports etc when you register at our practice. Please inform your doctor or the reception staff if you do not want this to happen.
Referrals
When a doctor decides further investigations are necessary, they will write a referral for you, detailing your problem. The referral will be forwarded to the appropriate specialist’s rooms to enable you to make an appointment. ln the case of a referral to a public hospital, the hospital will write to you advising you of your appointment date.
