Dr Hamza Amira graduated in Egypt in 1982 and moved to Perth in 1983. He established Forest Lakes Medical Centre in 1991.
Interests include Women’s Health and Antenatal Care, Child Health, Adult General Medicine, Mental Health, Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident, treatment and rehabilitation, as well as sport and industrial medicine and rehabilitation.

Dr Ilham Al-Hakeem has been working at Forest Lakes Medical Centre since 2008 and has over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of general practice. She has a passion for primary health care with a focus on comprehensive care for your family. Her interests include Women’s Health, with her long experience in obstetric gynaecology, as well as Child Health, Immunisations, Mental Health, Chronic Disease Management and removal of Implanon and Mirena.
Dr Jennifer Smith

Dr Jenny Smith is a graduate of UWA and has been a GP at Forest Lakes Medical Centre since 2003. She covers all aspects of general practice, with a particular interest in women’s and children’s health. Dr Smith is also very involved in the education of medical students and GP registrars.
When not working, she is busy raising four children.
Dr Smith will provide teleheath and telephone consultations. Please discuss any procedures you require with the receptionist.
Dr Ajit Chaurasia
MBBS, FRACGP, AMC

Dr Ajit Chaurasia is a Fellow of the Royal Australian General Practitioners College (RACGP) and is a certified cosmetic practitioner; certified in injecting Botulinum toxin and derma fillers.
He has extensive experience in all aspects of general medicine from working at a number of hospitals throughout Perth before moving to general practice.
His interests lie in skin surgery as well as aesthetic medicine.
Dr Chaurasia lives locally and has a busy family life with his wife and young children. He also practices in the country and covers shifts for Katanning Hospital Emergency Department attending to acute medicine.
At the moment Dr Chaurasia has decided to continue working in the rural sector and will not be able to travel to Perth due to the coronavirus government travel restrictions now in place. Unfortunately he is therefore not available at Forest Lakes Medical Centre until further notice.
Dr Sandra Dobney

Dr Gopal Sankaran

Originally from India, Gopal finished medical school in 2002, working in tertiary hospitals in South India and the UK before coming to Perth in 2006.
He gained his experience in various specialties in all referral hospitals in Perth, including many years in Emergency Medicine.
He moved to the specialist area of general practice in order to spend more time with his family.
Dr Ashish Arora

‘Ash’ works as a GP with a special interest in Dermatology and minor operations. He holds the following qualifications: MRCGP (UK), FRACGP (Aus), Dip Occ Med (UK), DRCOG (UK), Dip Derm (UK) and Dip Therapeutics (UK) and also holds certificates in Advanced Dermoscopy, Advanced Minor Operations and Cosmetic Procedures.
Qualified at Trinity Collage Dublin, Ireland in 1992, Ash has worked in Oncology/Radiotherapy (Ireland), General Medicine (UK), Anaesthetics and ITU Medicine (UK), Psychiatry (UK), Emergency Medicine (UK), Obstetrics and Gynaecology (UK) and General Practice (UK). While working as a GP Partner in the UK, he also worked in a Children’s Hospice and as a part time Forensic Medical Examiner for South Wales Police. Ash has been a tutor and examiner for the Diploma in Dermatology at Cardiff University, Wales, UK. He has since expanded his scope of practice to include cosmetic procedures and is passionate about this speciality.
Ash has also worked in the Royal Air Force (UK) for 5 years as a Senior Medical Officer, holding the rank of Squadron Leader. During his commission with the RAF he was deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and the Falkland Islands. He has experience of Aeromedical Evacuation of casualties and was part of the Incident Response Team (IRT) involved with the stabilisation, medical management and transport of casualties by helicopter in Iraq. He holds a commendation by the General Officer Commanding for his management of patients in the IRT. During this time he held certificates in Advanced Trauma Life support and Advanced Life Support.
He has been a GP in Australia since 2010, working in a rural community as well as semi-rural settings. He has held admitting rights to hospitals in South Australia and is now settled in Perth. He is a proud Australian Citizen and has many sporting interests and enjoys cooking.
